What deadlines, if any, are associated with my case?

There are a number of deadlines associated with a lawsuit. Probably the most important deadline if you’ve been sued is the deadline to respond to the complaint.

If you fail to respond to a complaint, a default, and subsequently, a default judgment, may be entered against you, but there are numerous other deadlines as well.

There are so called discovery deadlines within a lawsuit, the time frame within
which parties are required to either answer interrogatories or produce documents or things of that nature.

There may be deadlines established by the court. Sometimes the court will hold a case management conference and require that the parties and/or the attorneys comply with certain deadlines to move the case forward.
