Who can ask for an accounting in a partnership or corporation?

An accounting is a two-step process. First, one has to establish the right to an accounting and then the second part is the accounting itself occurs. In the instance of a partnership, any of the partners would have that right to ask for an accounting because they have an interest in the subject matter of the accounting, the business. Also within a corporation, those with a specific interest in the corporation would also be entitled to ask for an accounting.
